FLO-2D

The model FLO-2D was developed in 1986 to make predictions of hydraulic mudflow. The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency supported the initial model development and first application in Telluride, Colorado in 1988. After 28 years, FLO-2D has become the most widely used commercially available flood model.

What sets FLO-2D apart from other hydraulic and hydrologic models is its ability to simulate urban flooding at high resolution and with unlimited detail, including storm drainage systems. Using elements as small as 10f(3m), FLO-2D is a superior model in terms of volume conservation, velocity, numerical stability, and detail. FLO-2D is simple to set up and even simpler to edit.
