Pyxel Edit is a pixel art editor designed to make it fun and easy to make tilesets, levels, and animations.

Pyxel Edit is a pixel art drawing app designed specifically for working with tiles. Place tiles to form a level, edit them directly to see how they work together, then export your tileset and level data and load them into your game. Tiles can even be flipped and rotated, while still being editable and synchronized. This feature is inspired by the amazing Pixothello and Cosmigo Pro Motion, but taken one step further.

It also supports making animations and exporting them as sprite sheets or animated GIFs.

Pyxel Edit is integrated with Adobe Air and can run on Mac and Windows. (it reportedly also runs well on Linux under Wine)
